And Learn What Trump Plans to Do About It

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was established as a military alliance in 1949 to counteract Soviet aggression in Europe after World War II. Twelve countries formed the original alliance: the United States, Canada, Belgium, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.
After the Cold War ended, NATO was reimagined as a “cooperative security” organization. Currently, 32 countries are NATO members, including Greece, Turkey, Germany, and several others from Eastern Europe and northern Africa. Finland and Sweden joined within the past two years.
Although the original purpose for forming NATO could be considered valid, the organization has outlived its usefulness, particularly for the United States. The bottom line is that NATO membership does not serve America’s national interests, and continuing participation in NATO threatens U.S. national sovereignty.
Let’s consider five reasons why the U.S. needs to exit NATO immediately:
1. The U.S. pays 22% of the total budget designed to defend Europe from Global threats.
Member nations agree to pay a minimum of 2% of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) toward defense. Even though 11 of the 32 countries have begun to meet that standard in recent years, the picture changes when you look at the dollar amounts:
2. NATO is nothing more than an armed extension of the globalist United Nations.
According to Article 1 of the NATO Charter, [Member Nations] “are to refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations.”
BREAKING NEWS: Just yesterday, February 4, 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order “withdrawing the United States from the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and prohibiting any future funding for the UN Relief and Works Agency for the Near East (UNRWA),” according to the White House.
This appears to be the first step towards the U.S.’s withdrawal from NATO.
3. The Status of Forces Agreement under NATO endangers U.S. servicemen and women.
When members of the U.S. military serve in NATO countries, they are no longer under the jurisdiction (and protection) of the U.S. Rather, they are subject to the courts and laws of the foreign country hosting them.
4. The U.S., as a member of NATO, is in grave danger of being drug into an international conflict.
Under Article 5, the Treaty states that if a member nation is attacked by a non-member, the other NATO countries must come to its aid militarily.
Ukraine has been petitioning NATO to join for years, but the membership has rejected its bid for several reasons, including a high level of government corruption. Imagine what would happen if Ukraine suddenly were given membership status. The United States would be obligated to send forces to fight nuclear-armed Russia.
5. Under the guise of offering “peace and security,” NATO—and ultimately the U.N.—want war.
The U.N. mandates in Article 54 of Chapter VIII of its Charter that members of the U.N. Security Council be notified of NATO’s activities. Do you know which non-NATO countries are part of the U.N. Security Council? You are correct if you guessed Russia and China.
What in the world is going on here?
If the purpose of NATO is to protect the U.S. and Europe from aggression by nuclear powers such as China and Russia, why are they being notified of NATO’s actions to defend themselves from such aggression? The simple answer is that the globalists' agenda for the United Nations is to bring us into World War III.
The Wrap-Up
So, why doesn’t the United States leave NATO immediately?
NATO is detrimental to American interests, and everyone knows it. I believe Trump has a better plan—to dissolve NATO altogether. Stay tuned.
