June has always been my favorite month of the year. When I was younger, June represented the first month of freedom as the school year ended. It’s swimming pool and picnic season. In Western Pennsylvania, where we live, the temperatures are most moderate in June.
Lately, however, June—hailed by some as “Pride Month”—has become a month-long reminder of the depths of depravity our culture has fallen to.
Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed how, under the banner of the beautiful and iconic symbol of the rainbow, grown men dressed as women (and sometimes as young girls) have exploited real women and bankrupted high-performing corporations and brands. We’ve cringed as Target featured clothing designed by a self-identifying “trans demon,” and an Adidas swimsuit model donned a “tuck-friendly” women’s suit while displaying his chest hair.
The American public responded to this lunacy predicably. For example, Anheuser-Busch stock plummeted $27 B last year after the Dylan Mulvaney stunt. According to the New York Stock Exchange, Target Corporation (TGT) lost 20% of its value in just a few short weeks.
Recently, the MLB has been quietly telling teams to drop the use of Pride uniforms, and US Bishops are now urging Catholic hospitals to stop performing trans surgeries. These are only a few examples of what is becoming a much larger trend to push back against the disturbing cultural invasion by the “alphabet mafia,” as Charlie Kirk has coined it.
But the striking irony here is that the backstory of the rainbow depicts, more than anything else, God’s judgment. Although Noah’s arc is often presented as a cute Bible story, the account of the flood described in Genesis chapters 6-9 talks about an unprecedented time of evil, depravity, and human suffering. Look at Genesis 6:11-13:
“Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. So, God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!” (NLT)
Later in that account, God gives a sign that the judgment has ended. The rainbow is to “remind God” to never send a flood again to destroy humanity because of their moral depravity. Read Genesis 9:13-15.
The irony continues. As part of this covenant with humanity, God gives the command earlier in the chapter to “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth” (Genesis 9:1). Conversely, homosexuality and the transgender movement seek to rob men and women of their God-given ability to procreate. The highly dangerous puberty blockers and experimental surgeries can never make a man into a woman or a woman into a man—they can only make that individual sexually dead and unable to produce offspring.
This shouldn’t surprise us, though, because Satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10).
And don’t forget that it was the unforgivable sin of pride that caused God to kick Satan out of Heaven! We see the account of Lucifer’s demise in Isaiah 14:12-17.
The good news is that the devil always overplays his hand. He (they/them) has been fully exposed.
Galatians 6:7-8 says, “Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
So, the next time you see a rainbow, I encourage you to join me in sincerely praying for those who, by mocking God’s creation, are inviting His judgment.

I too read Constance's book in 1984 and at the time thought it was overstating things? No, she was more correct than I imagined. I had some contact with her as well. There was a mini-revival here in Australia in the early 80's with many conversions under revived teachings on eschatology - which was put down rapidly by many imposters and false teachers - but Constance's book was widely read at the time.

Excellent perspective, thank you for speaking truth. In 1983 I read a book that had just been published written by Constance Cumbey called, "The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow." In that book over 40 years ago, she warned about some of the very dark things we are now seeing. And I remember upon finishing that book in 1983 wondering how all that she talked about would unfold. Sadly, she was quite accurate. May we repent and pray that even yet THE Truth will take hold in this country.
