The year 2023 opened expectantly differently than the previous ones as the world slowly returns to normal. Travel restrictions are lifting, stadium concerts are coming back, and even the plexiglass is disappearing. Normal is good. Right?
However, as we emerged from the basement after being locked out of society for nearly three years, we noticed a strange new development. It’s as if “normal” received a botched facelift. It’s even uglier now than it was before.
Our current predicament reminds me of the iconic scene from the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy’s dog, Toto, exposes the Wizard as a fraud. “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.”
Or, in other words, don’t look at what’s right in front of your eyes. Ignore civilizations for the last millennia where men and women had distinct physical characteristics and only women could have babies. Of course, you can change the laws of nature. After all, it is 2023.
As a society, we’ve gone from idolizing male athletes, … to discriminating against men by redirecting their team’s funding to women’s sports, … to discriminating against women’s sports by directing their funding toward teams with men who think they are women.
We’ve gone from seeing ads of scantily dressed, painfully thin women, … to ads of scantily dressed morbidly obese women, … to ads of scantily dressed men posing as women, … to ads of pregnant “men” posing with women.
We’ve gone from schools requiring permission from parents for field trips to the zoo, … to schools allowing male students into female bathrooms without parents’ permission, … to teachers taking students to drag queen shows, and forbidding them to tell their parents.
In less than 100 years, we’ve gone from women not being able to vote, … to women having more legal protections than men, … to believing all women all the time, … to not protecting women in their own bathrooms and locker rooms, … to not knowing what a woman is.
Please, God, make it stop.
On the Edge
For decades, Christians Conservatives received ridicule for even suggesting the slippery slope argument. We warned that legally recognizing gay marriage could lead to normalizing pedophilia and other insidious behaviors. We warned that allowing safe, legal, and rare abortion could escalate into genocide of the most vulnerable segment of Americans, the pre-born.
But we’re no longer just standing on the edge of a slick incline. We’ve taken a nosedive; the snowball is picking up steam; we’re rolling toward the edge of the cliff and headed toward the abyss below.
I saw a remarkable interview a few months back which, in a strange twist of fate, legitimized our position. Wendy Bell, an anchor for Newsmax and a Pittsburgh native, interviewed the brave young woman who founded Gays Against Groomers, Jaimee Michelle. Here’s what she said:
“Back in the day when we were just fighting for marriage equality, people warned us about the slippery slope—you know, the radical religious right. I used to be really naïve and think, that’s definitely not going to happen. We literally just wanted to get married.
“But as time has gone on, the activists within our community have pushed things really, really far—much further than many within our coalition are comfortable with. Right now, all you see coming out of our community is indoctrinating kids and sexualizing children through gender theory. The majority of society, now when they think of a gay person, they think of this.
“We have a really big problem being associated with this because it’s ruining our reputation and erasing the decades of hard work that we and our gay and lesbian elders put in to just be accepted and be part of society.
Gays Against Groomers picked up over 100,000 followers on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram in just six weeks! Jaimee acknowledges that their voices were needed in this fight because straight people, parents, and everyone else in the community are instantly written off as hateful and bigoted when they speak out against the predators trying to sexualize and exploit children.
After remarking that parents who are complicit with this radical agenda are as bad as the groomers, she said, “We want to let parents know that [transitioning your child] is not trendy, it’s abuse. And it really needs to stop.”
Wow. Just wow.
Could you have ever imagined a scenario in which the Gay and Lesbian Community would be on the same side as Christian Conservatives? But here we are. And many on both sides are very pleased with the new coalition.
You can watch the interview here starting at the 48:46 mark.
The Solution?
The answer is to normalize the natural. Reject the new abnormal and return to what’s real. The solution is as easy and as hard as that.
God, in His infinite wisdom, created the Natural Order for our protection.
God designed the family unit, for example, as a safeguard for every member. The wife, generally smaller in stature, is physically protected by the husband; the man, whose natural instinct is for conquest, is balanced by the nurturing nature of the woman; and the children benefit from being physically protected and nurtured through both parents.
Any attempt to subvert the natural order creates the opportunity for the weaker individuals in any society to be exploited by those who are stronger. Many, many studies have been done on the detrimental impact of the breakdown of the traditional family.
When we allow those natural protections to be eroded, we are inviting abuse. Below are three ways in this “new abnormal” allows weaker, more vulnerable individuals in society to be targeted by more powerful people:
When we allow men with their anatomy in tack to assault a woman in the women’s bathroom, that’s the strong exploiting the weak.
When we allow doctors and pharmacists to chemically castrate our children for profit, that’s the strong exploiting the weak.
When we refuse to incarcerate violent criminals out of concern for their mental health—instead of the welfare of their victims—that’s the strong (i.e. the politically powerful) exploiting the weak.
What would happen if we began normalizing the natural once again? What would happen if, as a society, we made a concerted effort to swing the pendulum back to correct the equilibrium that’s been so badly disturbed? Maybe we should start our own campaign.
The Wrap Up
As we established earlier, the laws of nature that have governed the previous thousands of years, in every culture in every country on the planet, are suddenly contested. Once upon a time, marriage was thought to be exclusively between one man and one woman. Once upon a time, babies were born either male or female. Once upon a time murder, assault, and theft were punishable offenses.
Do you want to know how we can right this sinking ship? Follow God’s laws—even the ones we don’t like.
“Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. For the Lord loves justice, he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever”
Psalm 37:27–29
So, let’s forget about returning to normal—it’s overrated. Normal is just a setting on the dryer. We need to focus our attention on returning to what’s natural. Or may God help us all.
You are right... the answer is always found in the things of God!
Oh so wonderfully TRUE...and beautifully and correctly written! Thanks for your invaluable insights Amy!
Every blessing!
