The news emanating from the White House these days is like drinking “water out of a fire hose.”
The Trump Administration has secured our Southern Border, defunded Planned Parenthood abroad, and negotiated the release of hostages held by Hamas AND Americans held captive in Venezuela. The President visited North Carolina and California disaster victims, established the External Revenue Service, and signed the Laken Riley Act into law. And that was just the first few days!
Below is a brief summary of what Week #3 of the new Trump Administration brought:
1. First Flight of Criminal Migrants Sent to Detention Facility
The first flights of criminal migrants have landed at the 30,000-bed detention facility at Guantanamo Bay. In related news, El Salvador has offered their prison facility to house violent U.S. criminals as well as those from other countries arrested in the U.S.
2. Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.) Shut Down USAid
In an unprecedented move, D.O.G.E. laid off over 97% of the 10,000 USAid employees, halted foreign aid, and blocked access to their headquarters. USAid, a government agency acting under the pretense of supplying foreign humanitarian aid, has been found to be funding terror organizations, as well as other nefarious projects contrary to America’s foreign interests.
3. Over 65,000 Federal Employees Accept Buyout
This week, a federal judge extended the February 6 deadline for 2.3 million federal employees to accept the offer for deferred retirement. Employees who take the buyout would be given eight months of full pay and benefits through September 30.
As a side note, this move to cut a substantial portion of the workforce is not unique. In 1993, IBM cut 60,000 jobs after posting a $8 billion loss.
4. Deals Struck with both Canada and Mexico
In exchange for a 30-day pause before a 25% tariff could be imposed on Mexico and Canada, President Claudia Sheinbaum and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau agreed to place 10,000 National Guard members at our Southern and Northern Borders, respectively, to prevent illegal immigration and fentanyl trafficking.
5. U.S. Withdraws from the U.N. Human Rights Counsel
In 2023, the U.S. sent $153.7 million to the U.N. to support “refugees” through the U.N.’s Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA). UNRWA was found to have been directly funding Hamas, and its employees were discovered to be involved in the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel.
The Biden Administration temporarily paused funding in March of 2024, and the Trump Administration formally withdrew support this week to this and other U.N. agencies known to sponsor terrorism.
6. President Trump Reveals a New Idea for Peace in the Middle East
During Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the Oval Office, President Trump unveiled a groundbreaking plan to end the centuries of unrest in the war-torn Middle East: the U.S. would take control of Gaza and oversee the development of “unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”
Although critics are screaming “ethnic cleansing,” Trump’s vision is one of compassion. He is the first leader to shift the conversation from who will own the land—Israel or the Arabs—to what can we do for these people to ensure that their children can live in peace and safety.
7. Action Taken to Protect Girls and Women’s Sports
The Administration invited hundreds of young female athletes and their mothers to the Oval Office on Wednesday for a ceremonial signing of the executive order “No Men in Women’s Sports.” This marks the fulfillment of a significant campaign promise to protect females and their accomplishments in the athletic arena.
8. Trump Promises the Largest Tax Cuts for Working Middle-class Americans in U.S. History
The President announced that his plan includes:
No tax on tips
No tax on seniors' social security
No tax on overtime pay
Renew Trump's middle-class tax cuts
Adjusting the SALT cap
Eliminate all special tax breaks for billionaire sports team owners
Close the carried interest tax deduction loophole
Tax cut for "Made in America" products
9. Task Force Created to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias
President Trump signed an executive order to form a Justice Department task force to root out bias against Christians after the FBI’s Richmond office designated Catholics as domestic terrorists and 23 pro-life protestors were arrested during the last Administration.
10. Japan Pledges to Boost its Investment in the U.S. to $1 Trillion
Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba was the second foreign leader to receive an invitation from the White House. And for good reason. Japan is promising to increase its imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced in the United States as well as construct a new Toyota plant. Talks of Nippon Steel acquiring U.S. Steel, a deal that the previous administration blocked in early January, are back on the table.
Japan has been the largest investor in the United States for five consecutive years.
The points above are merely a snapshot and do not capture everything the Trump Administration has done just this week to promote peace, safety, order, and economic prosperity for the United States and its allies around the world.
America is so back!
These past 3 weeks have been a whirlwind of joy to observe by the man who promised to do it and is doing it at breakneck speed. It is AWESOME!
